(Patria) - There are long queues of vehicles exiting Bosnia and Herzegovina at the border crossings: Izačić, Velika Kladuša, Hadžin Potok, Kostajnica, Kozarska Dubica, Gradina, Gradiška, Novi Grad, Brod, Orašje, Brčko, Šamac, and Svilaj, while long queues of vehicles are recorded entering our country at the border crossings: Doljani, Bijača, Gorica, Osoje, Crveni Grm, and Zvirići. At the Kamensko border crossing, there are long queues of vehicles in both directions. At other border crossings, passenger vehicles are not currently waiting longer than 30 minutes.
Due to the registration of passengers under the new EU Entry/Exit System (EES), longer delays at border crossings are possible.
Due to a traffic accident on the main road Srebrenik-Tuzla (in the town of Tinja Donja), traffic is suspended until further notice. Traffic is being diverted via local bypasses until the police investigation is completed.
Based on previous experience, we warn drivers traveling from the south towards the interior of the country today (03.05.) about significant traffic jams and possible delays on the main road M-17, on the Mostar-Sarajevo route.
We also advise drivers to check road conditions before departing via BIHAMK reports and cameras available on the website bihamk.ba, and to be prepared for longer journeys via alternative routes, but with a lower risk of complete blockages.
For all those traveling from central Dalmatia towards the interior of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we recommend using the Kupres-Bugojno-Rostovo-Vitez-Sarajevo section as an alternative route, which has proven to be less congested during days of heavy traffic.
We remind drivers returning from southern parts of Dalmatia, from Makarska to Dubrovnik, that the traffic ban on the Dobro Polje-Miljevina section remains in effect for anyone considering the alternative route via Tjentište towards Foča.
Movement of all vehicles across the bridge on the main road Dobro Polje-Miljevina is prohibited. Vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons can use the roads via Grepak or Kalinovik (there is 19 km of unpaved road), while trucks must use the route via Rogatica and Ustiprača.
On the main road Tuzla-Bijeljina (Banj Brdo), vehicles up to 3.5 tons are using one lane, alternating, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.
On the main road Jablanica-Blidinje, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons is still suspended.
On the main road M-5 border crossing Izačić-Bihać, reconstruction work is being carried out on the bridge over the Mrižnica stream. Vehicles are being redirected to a temporary bypass near the works, with alternating traffic flow.
Due to road repair work on the A-1 highway section Kakanj-Lašva, for a length of 3 km, the left side of the highway is closed, and vehicles are directed to use the right side for two-way traffic, in the direction of Lašva-Kakanj.
On the A-1 highway sections Sarajevo sjever-Podlugovi and Sarajevo zapad-Lepenica, traffic is redirected to the passing lane due to ongoing works.
Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. As of December 2, 2025, Karakaj border crossing is open for all categories of vehicles. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
