
(Patria) - In the Albanian resort of Tale on the Adriatic Sea coast, two girls aged nine and 11 from Fushë-Kruje, 25 kilometres north of Tirana, drowned while swimming in a part of the beach that is unsupervised.
According to preliminary police information, the girls drowned around 12:50 p.m. The victims were identified by initials J.D. and A.M., both from Fushë-Kruje, writes Albanian post.
After the report, border police units and the Local Police Directorate from the city of Lezhë, located near Tale, arrived at the scene.
In cooperation with swimmers who were in the area, the bodies of the girls were found and pulled from the sea.
They were then transported to the morgue of the Regional Hospital in Lezhë for further processing.
According to initial reports, they drowned in a part of the beach that is not equipped with safety measures nor has lifeguards.
An investigative team is at the scene of the accident and, under the supervision of the prosecutor's office, continues to work on determining all the circumstances of this tragedy.
