(Patria) - Before the third game of the ABA League final between Partizan and Dubai at the Belgrade Arena, a tribute was paid to the late sports commentator Edin Avdić, who was buried on Monday in Sarajevo. He had been living in Belgrade since 2009. The match was attended by his wife Anja and son Isak.
Just before the start of the match and the traditional performance of the song "Da volim crno-bele", the arena echoed with chants of Edin Avdić's name.
Partizan fans paid tribute to the prematurely deceased sports journalist.
Avdić was respected among athletes, especially basketball players, as well as sports fans regardless of their fan or club affiliation, due to his excellent commentary and the knowledge he had and shared with viewers and listeners during every broadcast.
His analyses, comments, and distinctive style were an indispensable part of basketball and sports broadcasts for years.
On a chair in the Arena with Edin Avdić's name, strawberries and a jar of Nutella were left.
