SDA: Government Hides Ties with Suspicious Companies, Pushed State onto Moneyval Grey List

(Patria) - The authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina are pushing the economy and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina into new problems caused by placing our country on the Moneyval grey list, according to the Party of Democratic Action (SDA).

"Businesspeople, especially those operating abroad, will face additional problems in business, with more difficult and expensive financial transactions.

The grey list also means fewer investments, which will further weaken the domestic economy, which is already recording negative trends.

Citizens will also suffer damage, as their payments and receipts from abroad will wait up to 10 days for approval," the SDA stated.

From that party, they emphasize that while the disaster approaches, the parties of the ruling coalition (SNSD, HDZ, Trojka), instead of solving problems, are shifting responsibility onto each other or are focused on the election campaign.

On top of all that, instead of taking responsibility, they present it as a success that we ended up on the grey list and not the black list.

"Although they received a warning and clear conditions that needed to be met back in 2024, the authorities at the state level, and especially devastatingly in the Federation of BiH, did almost nothing to prevent the catastrophic consequences of being placed on the grey list.

The government at the state level did not adopt the law on international legal assistance in criminal matters and the law on seizure and management of property acquired through criminal acts, while in the Federation, the register of beneficial owners of companies was not adopted.

The question rightly arises as to why exactly these laws and the register, which would allow the public to see who the real owners are and who are the persons connected to the companies, were not adopted.

There is no reason not to adopt the register, unless individuals from the government are trying to hide their ties with companies that receive public contracts in the FBiH or are engaged in other suspicious activities," the SDA statement adds.
