(Patria) - A session of the Council of Mayors of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) was held in Tešanj, where the party's president Bakir Izetbegović also addressed the attendees.
In his opening remarks, Izetbegović praised the Mayor of Tešanj Municipality, Suad Huskić, for the continued economic strengthening of this local community.
The latest in a series of such results are the data on achieved fiscal turnover, according to which Tešanj recorded enormous growth.
- Tešanj has caught up with and surpassed some administrative centers that have twice or three times the population and are, moreover, preferred as administrative centers - said Izetbegović.
He added that Tešanj represents an example to be followed throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He then turned to the problems in the country, which, as he stated, are the most severe since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
- Nothing happening in the world is far from us. I fear that in BiH we still live under the illusion that the world, as it is, is obliged to do something for us.
Thirty years have passed since the end of the war. Some actors who were strongly on our side have left. There is also fatigue within the international community. Other hotspots have opened up.
We are witnessing the brutality of the strong and the large. We need to understand that we must first and foremost rely on ourselves and our own strength - the SDA president stated.
He also spoke about the position of the Office of the High Representative (OHR), the preservation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, and respect for the rule of law in BiH, issues that are of crucial importance for the future of the state.
- The conditions from the 5+2 Agenda for closing the OHR are insufficient. A more important condition for the OHR's departure is the creation of domestic mechanisms to unblock the system. They can block it as they wish.
The OHR has used the Bonn Powers over 800 times to prevent this. And now they say we should reach an agreement. We would enter a stalemate if they left us like that, and that must not happen.
What can we do in this situation? First - win the elections, bring back the experienced, resilient force capable of dealing with problems. We must accelerate Euro-Atlantic integrations.
We must intensify diplomacy and lobbying. We must also use our diaspora, which is increasingly stronger and more capable. There is a powerful energy we have not used for the state, for our local communities.
It is necessary to focus on building infrastructure and increasing the number of employees. We must speed up the construction of roads, energy facilities, railways, and airports. That is the only right path - Izetbegović believes.
Speaking about the current situation, he emphasized that the current government, led by the Troika parties, has done so much harm in this term that it will be easy for citizens to decide.
In this context, he highlighted the latest epilogue of the current government's actions, which is placing BiH on the Moneyval grey list.
- BiH ended up on that grey list because they do not want a register of company owners, to know who the real owners are and who the related parties are. Because of this, citizens will suffer. They have created so many problems that it is hard to even list them.
They have led us to depression and uncertainty. Their candidate for the BiH Presidency member is a float they are holding onto. If he remains in that position, the Troika will also remain - Izetbegović warned.
