UK and Pandurević with Utility Company Unions: Strengthening Social Dialogue and Joint Work on Problem Solving

(Patria) - Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk and Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton Mladen Pandurević held a meeting today with the presidents of eight trade union organizations of cantonal public companies, with the aim of strengthening social dialogue and finding concrete solutions to the problems pointed out by the unions.

The meeting was attended by the presidents of the trade union organizations of cantonal companies: Rasim Ljucević (Vodovod i kanalizacija), Ernes Turković (Pokop), Hajrudin Nuhanović (Rad), Admir Džuho (Tržnice-pijace), Nihad Kerla (Park), Mustafa Musić (Toplane), Ramiz Čaušević (Sarajevogas), and GRAS representative Mirsad Banda.



During the meeting, trade union representatives informed Prime Minister Uk and Minister Pandurević about the situation in the cantonal public utility companies.

From what was presented, it was clear that the mentioned problems mainly relate to the cantonal public utility company Vodovod i kanalizacija, while in other public utility companies they occur to a lesser extent or sporadically.

Uk and Pandurević emphasized that the common goal of the unions, management, and the Government is to ensure better working conditions for employees, stable functioning of companies, and quality services for the citizens of Sarajevo Canton.

They informed those present about the projects in which the Government is investing, as well as about the adoption of systemic solutions and strengthening the functionality of the communal sector, which is one of the key pillars of public services.

- Tomorrow, before the Government session, a meeting will be held with the directors of cantonal public utility companies, while at the Government session, the protocol for conducting negotiations for a new collective agreement for the communal economy, as well as the proposal of the negotiation team of the Sarajevo Canton Government, will be considered.

Negotiations are expected to begin on October 1st, and I hope they will be concluded by the end of October, although the current collective agreement expires on December 31st of this year - said Minister Pandurević.



Trade union president Rasim Ljucević confirmed the full support of the unions for the Ministry and the Government of Sarajevo Canton, and emphasized the importance of a partnership relationship and continuous communication.

It was concluded that Minister Pandurević will request data from the Office for Combating Corruption, the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, the Labor Inspectorate, and the Institute for Occupational Medicine regarding the status of reported irregularities in the cantonal public utility company Vodovod i kanalizacija, and that after receiving the answers, he will prepare an information for the Government.
