VII International Conference of Police Unions Held in Neum

(Patria) - From May 9-12, 2024, the VII International Conference of Police Unions was held at the "Marea" hotel in Neum, organized by the Union of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA). The conference, themed "Tourist Potentials of Bosnia and Herzegovina from a Security Perspective," was attended by representatives of police unions from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia.

In addition to participants from the region, trade unionists from the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies, the Sarajevo Canton Police Union, the Union of Independent Trade Unions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and IPA sections Sarajevo and Banja Luka also participated.

During the conference, participants attended presentations on the following topics:
– New Forms of Terrorism, presented by Prof. Dr. Vlado Azinović, full professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo;
– Security System in Bosnia and Herzegovina, presented by Prof. Dr. Mirza Smajić, full professor and head of the Department for Security and Peace Studies at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo; and
– Herzegovina Wine Route, presented by Mr. Darko Pehar, secretary of the Tourism and Hospitality Group of BiH at the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A tour of the "Vjetrenica" cave was also organized for the conference participants.

As part of the event, on May 11, 2024, trade union sports games were held in Neum. In addition to members of the SIPA Union, trade unionists from the Service for Foreigners' Affairs Union also participated. The competitions were conducted in a fair and correct manner with a relaxed atmosphere and a lot of fun, concluding with the announcement of the winners at a joint gathering with conversation and exchange of experiences among all participants.
