Plan for Improving Community Healthcare in Sarajevo Canton Presented

(Patria) - As part of the project to strengthen nursing in BiH, based on the Cooperation Agreement aimed at improving said care, to which the Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton (KS) is a signatory, a presentation of the Draft Plan for Improving Community Healthcare in KS was held today.

The presentation was attended by the Minister of Health Enis Hasanović, the Minister for Labour, Social Policy, Refugees and Displaced Persons of KS Enda Pavić Pečenković, the Director of the Public Institution Sarajevo Canton Health Center Milan Mioković, as well as representatives from the fami Foundation, the Cantonal Institute of Public Health, the Federal Ministry of Health, the KS Health Insurance Fund, the Cantonal Center for Social Work, and the KS Red Cross.

It was emphasized that the cooperation of the mentioned actors should take place through the implementation of a comprehensive community healthcare model and the provision of these services to everyone, especially vulnerable and socially excluded groups of the population, in accordance with international standards, priority needs of the vulnerable, and the characteristics of the local context.

The importance of creating a proactive and sustainable community of educators in the field of community healthcare, who will be ready to educate the population and professionals on topics important for health preservation, was highlighted.

The implementation of all activities will be carried out in accordance with the agreed local plan of the project participants, and the Ministry of Health of KS will, within its capabilities, provide continuous support in the development of this plan, and ensure conditions for an effective system of providing services to patients.
