Zvizdić proposes establishment of the Supreme Court of BiH, while Kojić demands abolition of the Prosecutor's Office and Court of BiH

(Patria) - The session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH is scheduled for November 20. Although there are no "European laws" on the agenda, other legislative proposals will be considered at the proposal of some representatives.

Thus, Denis Zvizdić (NIP) proposed the Draft Law on the Supreme Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a request for consideration under urgent procedure. The explanation states that the seat of the Supreme Court of BiH will be in Sarajevo and that it will be a court of cassation.

The President of the Supreme Court of BiH is appointed by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) from among the judges appointed to the Supreme Court.

Regarding the competencies, the law states:

At the same session, there is also the Draft Law on the Cessation of Validity of the Law on the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose proposer is Milorad Kojić (SNSD), with a request for consideration under urgent procedure, as well as the Draft Law on the Cessation of Validity of the Law on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the same proposer.

We remind you that a court proceeding is underway before the Court of BiH against Milorad Dodik, the president of SNSD and Republika Srpska, for non-implementation of the decisions of the High Representative in BiH, after which attacks on these two state judicial institutions intensified.

The state coalition still has no agreement on the Law on Courts of BiH, which even questions the jurisdiction of the Court of BiH, and the seat of the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH is also a stumbling block. However, SNSD maintains the position that they are simultaneously negotiating and dismantling state institutions. It is precisely the authorities of Republika Srpska that have been identified as the obstacle to BiH's European path in the latest European Commission report on BiH.
