Zvizdić: I call on the OHR not to link the issue of state property with any kind of political trade-off

(Patria) - Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić also warned the international community to stop using the phrase "federal state" when referring to BiH, as it is an internationally recognized state with its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

"1. Ever since the Constitutional Court of BiH declared the phrase 'common institutions' unconstitutional and impermissible, anti-state oriented politicians, and even some representatives of the international community, have begun using another unconstitutional phrase - 'federal state'.
2. The intention of Bosnophobic politicians from the BiH entity of RS is clear, and when it comes to representatives of the international community, I hope it is a slip of the tongue. If it is not a lapsus linguae, then I warn that such a phrase must immediately cease to be used, because Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a 'federal state', nor a 'composite state', but BiH is an internationally recognized and independent state with its territorial integrity, sovereignty, political independence and international legal personality.
3. In addition to the above, and bearing in mind the earlier and harmful practice of the international community in 'equalizing blame and creating an artificial balance', which was often contrary to the principles of international and domestic legislation, I call on the OHR not to apply that and such a principle in the process of resolving the issue of state property, and not to link the law on state property with any other issue, especially not in terms of any political trade-off or rotten compromises aimed at creating unconstitutional, illegal and unsustainable 'balances'," Zvizdić stated.

He further states that state property, in accordance with the Agreement on Succession and the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, belongs to the state of BiH.

"Lower levels of government can be given it for use, it can be an excellent basis for investment, but only the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH can decide on ownership. Any other solution would be completely contrary to the legal practice of democratic states," Zvizdić concluded.
