Zukić calls on Bećirović to react if Hungary takes command of EUFOR in BiH: The noose is tightening around Bosnia's neck

(Patria) - After the Austrian newspaper "Der Standard" announced that Austria will hand over the command of the EUFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina to Hungary next year for the first time in 15 years, the same newspaper explained that this leads to uncertainty on the ground because people fear political influence from Budapest.

"Der Standard" states that with the Hungarians taking over the leadership of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there could be uncertainty due to the orientation of Hungary's illiberal and autocratic government, as well as the support of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for Milorad Dodik, the president of Republika Srpska. Incidentally, Hungary opposes sanctions against Dodik, even though he has been under US sanctions for years.

The Head of the Bosniak Club in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated in his reaction that the noose is tightening around Bosnia's neck.

"I call on Denis Bećirović, member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to raise his voice against the announcement that Hungary, i.e., its current autocratic and anti-Bosnian regime, will take command of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Until now, Austria has commanded EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is the 'Althea' mission of the EU military forces, as the name itself suggests - European Union Force (EUFOR), whose mandate is to preserve peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and protect the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement. At a time when Dodik is undermining the Dayton Agreement and seriously endangering peace in the country, the command of the EU military forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina is being taken over by the regime of his friend Orbán, a known European right-winger and a man who practically openly supports anti-state actions coming from the political entity of Republika Srpska," said Zukić.

Zukić emphasized that the friends of separatists and radicals should prevent separatists in their separatism and radicalism.

"And we are supposed to believe that now?! It's hard to believe it's a coincidence! The noose is clearly tightening around Bosnia's neck! Unfortunately, the EU also has its knot on that noose," Zukić concluded.

Incidentally, although there is talk of increasing EUFOR troops, there is no confirmation yet that new soldiers will join the EUFOR mission in BiH. Some unofficial information suggests that the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Johann Sattler, also opposes this.
