Zukić appeals to Schmidt: Dismiss Dodik and preserve peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - Head of the Bosniak Club in the Federal House of Peoples, Muamer Zukić (SDA), has asked the High Representative Christian Schmidt to dismiss the leader of SNSD and RS Milorad Dodik from all public functions and ban him from any further public engagement, due to the fact that his policies are leading the country into war.

Zukić also called on the US Embassy to support and encourage the High Representative in actions that will preserve peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"There are no peoples, nor individuals, who are not worthy of a state. On the contrary, everyone should have the same rights and freedoms. Of course, in practice, many circumstances (personal engagement, heritage, international alliances, etc.) influence what each people will practically achieve in the freedom they live. But no one should advocate the thesis and state that there are unworthy peoples. That is a fascist statement in every respect!

I don't know of any politician, statesman, or even of the lowest level, in Europe today who puts forward such theses in the public space. I think Europe hasn't seen anything like it since the time of Hitler.

And I remind the public that Dodik stated these days that Bosniaks are not worthy of having a state, unlike Serbs who are. This is just one in a series of his anti-human, anti-European, anti-Bosniak, and anti-Bosnian moves.

Dodik, almost on a daily basis, bombards the public with statements containing: insults and belittling of Bosniaks, threats to the constitutional and legal order and the survival of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and finally, statements that trample universal human values, and everything that Europe and the world advocate for in all their charters and what are, at least declaratively, the foundations of today's civilized world. However, despite this fact, Dodik does not face consequences.

The High Representative, as part of the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, must fulfill his duty and protect the Dayton Agreement and peace in the country. That is his key competence and the reason for his existence as an institution.

At this moment, the only way to do that is the dismissal of Dodik and his closest associates and their exclusion from political life.

I am sure that the anti-state and pro-fascist bubble in RS would deflate overnight if three or four key figures were politically removed. The institution of the High Representative has done this on several occasions before.

In one day, they managed to dismiss and ban the political activity of more than fifty politicians, including members of the state presidency, ministers, deputies, mayors, etc.

If the High Representative does not do so, we will consider that by failing to perform his duty, he is complicit in what Dodik is doing. And it is clear to everyone that Dodik is leading us down a path whose outcome can be nothing other than armed conflict.

According to Dodik's roadmap - if the High Representative imposes changes to the law at 5 PM, he will declare the independence of RS at 11 PM, so it should be clear to everyone that war in Bosnia begins on that very day!

And the High Representative is there to preserve peace, that is his Dayton, and even constitutional role. And he will only preserve it in this way.

I think the dismissal of Dodik will not be unwelcome to the opposition in RS, nor to a good part of the public in that part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also, I call on the embassies of the most powerful countries, especially the US Embassy, to provide strong and open support to the High Representative for the dismissal of Dodik and the ban of his further political engagement, and thus contribute to the preservation of peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina," Zukić wrote on social networks.
