Zukić: Current authorities have indebted FBiH by over a billion KM in 2024

(Patria) - Speaker of the Bosniak Club in the House of Peoples of the Federation of BiH Muamer Zukić (SDA) says that the current authorities have indebted FBiH by over a billion KM in 2024.

"I see the Prime Minister of the Federation appeared at a press conference and is trying to convince us - not to believe our own eyes, but to believe his unconvincing words. The way the Prime Minister explains the current indebtness of the Federation, it will eventually turn out that he is repaying some of someone else's debts," Zukić states.

He adds that as a delegate, he requested official information about the planned indebtness of FBiH in 2024, including short-term and long-term loans, with repayment methods and deadlines.

"Of course, I did not receive an answer. This information is obviously being hidden. Based on what I managed to see from the materials available to us in the Parliament and what the media published as information from government sessions - the Federation's indebtness this year is over a billion KM.

Namely, in 2024, the government has taken on debt exceeding 650 million KM, mostly short-term. At the same time, the FBiH Parliament has made decisions on long-term loans exceeding 600 million KM. Which in total amounts to more than 1,200,000,000 KM. And we are only in September... What else will happen by the end of the year," Zukić asks.

He says that in the coming period, he will try to obtain all decisions on indebtness, and the SDA Club will engage neutral economic experts to seek their opinion.

"We have no doubt that the Federation is indebting itself at a record pace. The only question is, how much will it amount to by the end of the year," he concluded.
