National Museum Responds to Dodik: Come and See for Yourself, We Also Accept Publication Orders

(Patria) - After the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, accused the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina of "creating animosity towards Israel" by selling publications about the Sarajevo Haggadah, the institution has issued a measured, yet ironic response.

– We are pleased to draw attention to Mr. Dodik’s statement, especially since it is a rare example of accurately stating the full name of our institution – the Museum stated.

They invited him to visit the National Museum of BiH to personally see how the Sarajevo Haggadah is cared for, as well as the entire Jewish, cultural-historical, and natural heritage of the peoples of BiH.

Furthermore, the Museum offered Dodik the opportunity to purchase the book "Sarajevo Haggadah – History and Art," with the note:

– The National Museum of BiH undertakes not to direct the funds from the sale of the publication to aid the people of Palestine, but rather for the printing of a second edition, as the first is almost sold out.

We remind you that Dodik previously stated via the X network that the National Museum's decision to print and sell a publication about the Sarajevo Haggadah was an abuse of Jewish heritage, claiming it “insults those who know what the Haggadah means to Jews”.

He also stated that RS "resolutely distances itself" from what he called "the continuity of an atmosphere of intolerance towards Jews" in Sarajevo, also linking it to the ban of the Conference of European Rabbis.

The Museum, however, responds with concrete facts and open doors for everyone – including Dodik.
