Tougher sentencing policy: 21 years in prison for two Afghan nationals

(Patria) - In a case involving two Afghan nationals, a total of 21 years in prison was handed down.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, in the case concerning Amanullah Ishakil, also known as "Boxer", born in 2001 in Afghanistan, and Qais Khan, also known as "Tiger", born in 2001 in Nangarhar, also an Afghan national, proved the defendants' responsibility for the criminal offenses of international human trafficking and people smuggling, and also proved the defendants' responsibility for severe sexual abuse of a minor, also a migrant and foreign national, who was in an extremely difficult situation in BiH.

Given that the first-instance verdict sentenced them to 10 and 11 years in prison, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH welcomes the tightening of sentencing policy for these criminal offenses, and the Task Force for Combating Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration has also been informed about the case.
