(Patria) - Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk, Minister of Economy of CS Zlatko Mijatović and Director of KJKP "Tržnice-pijace" Jasmin Terović visited the renovation works at the "Kvadrant" market, and expressed satisfaction with their progress.
After the fire at the "Kvadrant" market on November 5 last year, the Government of Sarajevo Canton made strong efforts to provide support to tenants whose businesses suffered damage. In line with the promise, the CS Government adopted a program aimed at alleviating the consequences of the fire and helping tenants during the challenging recovery period.
The Ministry of Economy of CS conducted a successful public call to which tenants, according to the list submitted by KJKP "Tržnice-pijace Sarajevo", applied and exercised their rights to financial assistance. Funds were made available to tenants in the amount of up to three lowest salaries in the FBiH with all taxes and contributions, up to a maximum of 3,053 KM per employee.
These funds are intended for costs necessary for regular operations, including the procurement of goods and services, operational costs, and payment of wages to workers. The program is designed with the aim of preserving existing jobs, and with the intention that no employer is forced to lay off workers, enabling a quick return to normal business activities.
The implemented public call, which aims to preserve jobs among tenant entities at the "Kvadrant" market, resulted in the conclusion of contracts with 52 business entities, with a total value of 158,754 KM.
The CS Government, led by Prime Minister Uk, thanks to the swift proposal of Minister Mijatović, was the first of all to promise and realize aid to tenants, in order to maintain their business.
