KS Government to Pay Rent for Six Months for Kvadrant Market Tenants, Financial Aid Also Provided

(Patria) - As promised after the fire at the Kvadrant market, the Sarajevo Canton Government has made enormous efforts to find the most effective modality to help tenants who suffered damage. Thus, at a session of the KS Government, a Program was adopted, which aims to help tenants cope with the consequences of the fire that befell them as easily as possible.

The Program envisages that the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton will announce a public call, to which tenants, based on the list provided by KJKP „Tržnice-pijace Sarajevo“, will be able to apply and realize rights to financial assistance.

Tenants covered by the Program will be able to receive funds in the amount of up to three minimum wages in the Federation of BiH with all taxes and contributions, which does not exceed the amount of 3,053 KM per employee.

The funds received after the implementation of the public call are obliged to be justified by the tenants to the Ministry of Economy of KS, and they can be used for costs necessary for regular business operations, such as procurement of goods and services, operating costs, as well as employee salaries.

The Program was created with the aim of preserving existing jobs, so that no employer would be forced to dismiss employees, and to continue business operations at this location in the shortest possible period.

The public call will be published as soon as possible on the website of the Ministry of Economy of KS.

In addition, the KS Government will subsidize the rent costs for the first six months of next year for all tenants.
