UK proposed Dušanka Bošković as the new Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth

(Patria) - In accordance with constitutional powers, the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton (KS) Nihad Uk officially submitted a proposal to the KS Assembly today to appoint Prof. Dr. Dušanka Bošković to the position of Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth.

Prof. Dr. Dušanka Bošković is a prominent expert in the field of electrical engineering and informatics, a professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Sarajevo, whose work is recognized internationally.

She was recently elected Director of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Region 8 (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), becoming the first person from Bosnia and Herzegovina in this significant position.

Her expertise includes advanced technologies, energy systems, and intelligent networks, and throughout her career, she has established strong connections with international academic and technological communities, becoming recognized as a leader in her field.

Emphasizing continuity in strategic investments, Prime Minister Uk stated that the commitment to higher education remains unchanged.

- We continue with a consistent policy of strengthening scientific capacities, improving student conditions, and modernizing university infrastructure, which will gain additional momentum under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Bošković - Uk said.

He expressed special gratitude to the previous minister Adna Mesihović for her contribution during her term and wished her luck in her new role as a representative in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.

The final decision on the appointment will be made by the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.
