Remains of one person found in exhumation in Višegrad

(Patria) - An investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes, acting on the order of the prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and with a warrant from the Court of BiH, is coordinating the process of exhumation and search for missing persons in the area of Višegrad.

The exhumation process is taking place at the site of the village of Prelovo, Višegrad municipality, and the remains of one person have been found.

According to preliminary information and findings, these are the remains of a victim of Bosniak ethnicity, who went missing in the Prelovo area in 1992.

The identity of the person will be determined through DNA analysis.

Participating in the exhumation process were a forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of BiH, the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) in BiH, as well as police officers from the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, Višegrad Police Station, who secured the location and provided forensic technical support.
