TUZLA Numerous delegations laid flowers in the Alley of Youth, we remember and do not forget 71 killed persons

(Patria) - Numerous delegations from all levels of government today laid flowers at the Memorial to Civilian Victims of the War in the Alley of Youth at Slana Banja. Thirty-one years ago, on May 25, 1995, at 8:55 PM, a shell fired from the positions of the Army of Republika Srpska from Mount Ozren, on the orders of war criminals Radovan Karadžić, Ratko Mladić, and Novak Đukić, fell on Kapija – the most famous gathering place for young people in Tuzla.

At that moment, 71 people lost their lives, while more than 150 were wounded. The average age of the killed was only 23 years. The youngest victim was two-year-old Sandro Kalesić.

At 12:00 PM, a commemoration and laying of flowers will be held at Kapija.

Tonight, exactly at 8:55 PM, a siren will sound in memory of the exact moment of the tragedy, as a symbol of eternal respect and remembrance.

May 25th has been declared a Day of Mourning in the Tuzla Canton.
