KS Prosecutor's Office to Investigate Allocation of Funds from Okerić's Cabinet to Associations Close to NiP

(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton will get involved in the affair and investigate the allocation of funds to associations in Srebrenica close to People and Justice, specifically the allocation of over 200,000 KM by the Chairman of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly Elvedin Okerić (NiP).

"According to the information I have, an order has been issued by the KS Prosecutor's Office to determine all circumstances of the allocation of budget funds from the cabinet of the Chairman of the KS Assembly. The order was issued based on information from the Office for Combating Corruption in KS. This confirms what I said, that investigative bodies are acting ex officio and that the goal of all this was not to slander anyone, but to control the allocation of funds.

In the meantime, new details about the allocation of funds have emerged, shedding further light on the irregularities of this allocation," Almir Bečarević, a minister in the KS Government, told NAP.

Yesterday, Okerić himself addressed the public, stating that the donations to associations in Republika Srpska were in accordance with regulations and that party affiliation was not key to the allocation of money.

He defended himself by saying that it was not him who allocated the funds, but his cabinet, and that other associations close to some other parties also received funds.
