
(Patria) - A prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime, and Corruption has filed an indictment including the accused: Pudar Dejan, born in 1976 in Mostar, a citizen of BiH.
The accused is charged with, while working as the chief cashier at the state agency BHANSA based in Mostar, as an authorized person for withdrawing and managing funds, during 2014 and 2015, withdrawing money in KM and Euro currencies, in a total amount of 372,300.57 KM, and then, with the aim of illegally acquiring property benefits for himself, from the withdrawn money entrusted to him in the service of BHANSA, misappropriated the sum of 276,222.50 KM.
According to the collected evidence, the criminal offense was committed by the accused forging invoices, cash payment orders for advances, and travel orders for BHANSA business trips for other BHANSA employees and himself, even though the trips never took place, thus obtaining a supposed basis for the payment of monetary amounts which he then appropriated for himself, thereby acquiring illegal property benefits and causing damage to the budget and all citizens of BiH.
The accused is charged with misappropriating money in a total amount of 276,222.50 KM which was entrusted to him, thereby committing the criminal offense of Embezzlement in Office under Article 221 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Prosecutor's Office will prove the allegations of the indictment by calling 58 witnesses, two experts, and submitting over 500 material pieces of evidence. During the proceedings, the confiscation of illegally acquired property benefits will be requested. The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
