Trojka faces problems with election of mayor and deputies, Džehverović's candidacy controversial as she is from the 'Others' category?

(Patria) - The constitutive session of the Sarajevo City Council will most likely be adjourned today, without the election of a mayor and two deputies.

Although the Trojka parties reached an agreement that Samir Avdić (NIP) would be the new mayor, and Mirela Džehverović (NS) and Predrag Puharić (SDP BiH) the deputies, the problem is that Džehverović declares herself as Other, which would mean the leadership of the City of Sarajevo would be without a Croat. Therefore, a two-hour break was requested at the proposal of NIP to try to find a solution.

The new convocation of the City Council includes the following councilors: From the Municipality of Stari Grad: Vedad Deljković (DF), Muamer Mekić (SDP), Adi Zahiragić (SDA), Emir Bićo (NiP), Armin Buljugić (SDA), Srđan Simonović (DF), and Željko Ler (SDP). From the Municipality of Centar: Jasmin Ademović (NiP), Alen Girt (Our Party), Svjetlana Šošić (SDP), Amer Herenda (SDA), Sonja Mušić (DF), Zlatko Ilić (Our Party), and Zvonko Ivišić (SDP).

From the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo: Kerim Balić (SDA), Srđan Srdić (SBiH), Edhem Imamović (NiP), Edison Pavlović (Our Party), Mirza Ramić (DF), Dragana Bogdanović (Our Party), and Armin Handžar (SDP).

From the Municipality of Novi Grad: Nejra Džanko Zukobašić (SBiH), Jasmin Smječanin (SBiH), Hana Keč (Our Party), Dino Okerić (NiP), Azra Čomor (SDA), Damir Filipović (SDP), and Bojan Vučković (SDP).

The statute of the City of Sarajevo specifies that attention must be paid to the equal representation of both sexes, and that the deputies and the mayor cannot be from the same nation or the category of Others. It is unclear why Džehverović's candidacy is controversial, given that according to the Statute, candidates who declare themselves as Others can also hold these positions.
