Urgent Thematic Session of the BiH Council of Ministers Requested, Joint Dialogue with Croatia Initiated

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina Logistics Consortium, which brings together the most organized sector of road carriers with around 47,000 employees, has sent an urgent request to the BiH Council of Ministers to convene a thematic session dedicated to the problem of applying the 90/180 day rule for professional drivers in EU member states.

The Consortium warns that the current situation seriously threatens the survival of transport companies, the stability of supply chains, and around 20,000 jobs. They emphasize that transport flows between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia represent a key economic bloodstream, and that any disruption affects production, exports, and the investment environment in both countries.

The Consortium proposes the urgent involvement of relevant ministries – MKT BiH, MVTEO, the Ministry of Security, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – and the initiation of dialogue with the Government of the Republic of Croatia to find an operational and sustainable solution. They also propose forming a joint working group that would, in a short period, define a model compliant with the EU legal framework, but which protects the rights of professional drivers and the stability of economic flows.

The Consortium points out that professional drivers are not a migratory category, but a key working and operational component of international supply chains, and that this concerns the right to work and the preservation of the economic system.

The BiH Logistics Consortium calls on the authorities to react decisively and institutionally, opening space for a solution that is in the interest of both countries.
