(Patria) - Milan Tegeltija, advisor to the president of the BiH entity RS Milorad Dodik, and dismissed President of the HJPC BiH, did not receive permission from Croatia that would allow him to access consular duties in that country.
The Presidency of BiH appointed Tegeltija three months ago as consul of BiH in Rijeka, but a positive response never came from Zagreb.
Tegeltija is on the US blacklist due to corruption in the judiciary. He is currently an advisor to Milorad Dodik, president of the BiH entity RS.
It is likely that in Banja Luka, when they decided to take care of a person from Dodik's structure in the "diplomacy", they hoped that President Milanović would "push through" the exequatur. However, during the parliamentary elections in Croatia and the great tensions between the President and the Government, this was simply not possible.
The Government, on the other hand, does not want a repeat of the scandal it already has with the repercussions of cooperation with Dodik. Namely, the Croatian authorities already have an unpleasant situation with "Dodik's company" Integral from Laktaši, which is building a connecting expressway between the bridge on the Sava River near Bosanska Gradiška and the highway near Okučani.
According to still unconfirmed information, a new proposal for the appointment of a consul in Rijeka should soon be presented to the members of the Presidency of BiH, and instead of the compromised Tegeltija, Siniša Mihailović, former editor of RTRS, should be nominated for the position of consul in Rijeka, in neighboring Croatia.
