(Patria) - There have been numerous reactions to today's decision by the Regulatory Commission for Energy in FBiH (FERK) to increase electricity prices starting August 1.
The decision established that the price of electricity will increase by 10 to 12 percent for customers billed by Elektroprivreda BiH, while it remains the same for customers of Elektroprivreda HZHB.
Legal expert Sifet Kukuruz called FERK's decision an electricity price hike that burns citizens' equality.
Instead of an economic issue, Kukuruz emphasizes that the electricity price increase has become a first-class political issue.
"With the decision to increase electricity prices, not only is open discrimination against citizens being carried out, but economic apartheid and segregation are also being openly implemented in BiH," Kukuruz stated.
