The last group of pilgrims has also arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - The last group of pilgrims arrived at Sarajevo Airport in the early hours of today.

The final flight carried the leadership of the Office for Hajj and Umrah and medical workers who were with the pilgrims in Mecca until the departure of the last plane.

„Thank God, we have arrived with the last group of 158 pilgrims in our homeland. We are tired, but happy and satisfied that we performed the Hajj rituals and returned healthy and alive. All in all, we can say that the organization of this year's Hajj was very successful,“ said the head of the Office for Hajj and Umrah of the Islamic Community (IZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dževad-ef. Hadžić, upon arrival.

Efendija Hadžić also commented on the work of the medical team, particularly praising their dedication and readiness to be at the pilgrims' disposal.

„I must also praise the medical team, who diligently performed their tasks. They conducted more than 3,000 examinations, and everything that was before them was done at an excellent level,“ Hadžić emphasized.

He commented on the cases of flight delays, explaining their causes, as well as the steps taken in that regard.

„I think our pilgrims are satisfied. There were a few problems with the return, but that was not in our hands. Simply, the airline was delayed by a few days. We ensured the return for everyone who had to go. Those who did not have to, simply enjoyed that extended stay in Mecca in conditions that were excellent,“ said Hadžić.

This year, 2,200 pilgrims traveled under the organization of the Office for Hajj and Umrah from Bosnia and Herzegovina. This number includes the Hajj leadership, i.e., guides and the medical team. The oldest pilgrim is 84, and the youngest is 15 years old.
