Shameful graffiti with the image of criminal Mladić across RS, authorities' reactions are absent

(Patria) - Graffiti with the image of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladić are still present on numerous facilities across the RS entity, including the City Stadium in Banja Luka.

Thus, at the City Stadium in Banja Luka, next to which visiting fans pass when entering their stands, shameful inscriptions and graffiti can be seen, writes the portal Negatori genocida.

The graffiti of criminal Mladić and the message "Death to guests" greet all visiting fans arriving at this stadium, and this is something that definitely should not have a place in public space, especially not at a stadium.

Despite the fact that Mladić was finally convicted of genocide and crimes against humanity by the Hague Tribunal, the authorities of this entity remain silent on such shameful displays.

In any legal state, glorifying convicted war criminals would be strictly sanctioned, but in this case, an adequate reaction is absent.

Critics point out that it is difficult to expect the police, which were also subject to the Hague Tribunal's verdicts for genocide, to discover and punish the perpetrators behind these graffiti.

Let us remind you, the former commander of the VRS, Ratko Mladić, was finally sentenced to life imprisonment in mid-2021 by the Hague Tribunal for genocide and crimes against humanity against the non-Serb population in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition to Mladić, the Hague Tribunal has convicted 13 other former members of the police and VRS for genocide in Srebrenica. The former president of the RS, Radovan Karadžić, was also finally sentenced to life imprisonment.

More than 50 people have been convicted so far for genocide and crimes in Srebrenica, with over 700 years in prison.
