SPS: Illegal stay and work of 41 foreign nationals established in the area of Tuzla and Živinice

(Patria) - The Service for Foreigners' Affairs informs the public that during February 2026, acting on previously collected operational intelligence, it carried out several intensified inspection controls in the area under the jurisdiction of the Tuzla Regional Center, with the aim of determining the legality of stay and work of foreign nationals.

During the mentioned activities, 41 foreign nationals were registered and controlled, namely 38 citizens of the Republic of Turkey and 3 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Controls established that the mentioned individuals stayed and worked without a work permit, without a properly registered place of residence, and without a temporary stay permit.

Irregularities were found at several facilities in the areas of Tuzla and Živinice, with 27 individuals being employed at facilities in Tuzla, while 14 individuals were employed at facilities in Živinice.

According to the information collected so far, all individuals found, except for two individuals employed by a legal entity in Živinice, were employed through a legal entity registered in the Brčko District, which had concluded subcontracts with other legal entities at the mentioned facilities.

In accordance with the provisions of the Law on Foreigners of Bosnia and Herzegovina, legally prescribed measures were imposed on the mentioned individuals, including termination of stay, termination of stay with the measure of expulsion, imposition of the measure of expulsion, as well as the issuance of misdemeanor orders.

The Service for Foreigners' Affairs will continue with continuous and intensified controls in the future, with the aim of ensuring the legality of stay and work of foreign nationals.
