(Patria) - The Presidency of the Socialist People's Party (SPS) has requested the withdrawal of Goran Selak's appointment as BiH Security Minister due to the current political circumstances in the country.
SPS believes that, given the currently unfavorable political situation in BiH, it is necessary to withdraw the appointment for Security Minister before confirmation in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
"It is evident that parties from the Federation of BiH do not care about the stability of BiH and the state of the security sector, but are engaged in politicking," SPS stated.
They add that, should more favorable conditions arise in the future, they will consider further steps regarding the position of BiH Security Minister.
SPS reminded that, according to the coalition agreement with SNSD, the position of BiH Security Minister "belonged to them".
"We considered and still consider Selak to be the best candidate for this position, given his twenty years of work and several years of leadership experience in the security sector," stated SPS, whose president is Selak.
They remind that the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of BiH "violated the Rules of Procedure by scheduling a session without a prior session of the Commission for the Preparation of the Election of the Council of Ministers".
