SPS with SIPA and MUP RS in operation: Two persons of security interest apprehended, will be removed from BiH

(Patria) - The Service for Foreigners' Affairs, acting on the order of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in coordination with the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, carried out a joint operational action in the area of Sarajevo and Novi Grad.

During the implementation of the action, members of the Service, acting within their legal powers, located two persons of security interest in the Sarajevo area – a citizen of Iraq, who poses a threat to the national security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a citizen of Pakistan. Both individuals are involved in the smuggling chain and can be linked to the organized smuggling of migrants on the Western Balkan migrant route.

The individuals were apprehended, deportation orders from Bosnia and Herzegovina were issued against them, and they were placed under supervision in the Immigration Centre of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, where they will remain until their removal from the country.

The Service for Foreigners' Affairs will continue to carry out coordinated activities aimed at suppressing networks of organized migrant smuggling on the Western Balkan migrant route in cooperation with competent institutions in the future.
