SPS conducted an operation in Stari Grad: 45 migrants found in private accommodation, transferred to Ušivak and Blažuj

(Patria) - The Service for Foreigners' Affairs continues with continuous operational activities aimed at controlling the illegal stay of foreigners in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After yesterday's successful operational action at one location (Ilidža), on June 24, 2025, a new action was carried out in the municipality of Stari Grad, Sarajevo, with the assistance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.

The activities were focused on controlling the movement and stay of migrants with the aim of relocating them from illegal accommodation to temporary reception centers.

At the location in Mihrivode street, a total of 45 foreign nationals were found illegally staying in private facilities. These are migrants originating from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and China.

The Service for Foreigners' Affairs, acting in accordance with the law, relocated the migrants to the temporary reception centers Blažuj and Ušivak, where their identification and registration were carried out, and all necessary conditions were provided for them.

Appropriate misdemeanor measures will be initiated against citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who illegally provided accommodation services to migrants without proper registration and legal reporting.

The Service for Foreigners' Affairs remains committed to lawful and responsible migration management and will continue with intensive operational activities in the field in the coming period, in cooperation with other competent institutions.
