(Patria) - The tenth working session of the Assembly of Canton Sarajevo will be held today.
Deputies will consider the resignation of the Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo, Nihad Uk, and the Decision on the dismissal of the Government of Canton Sarajevo. Prime Minister Nihad Uk, due to the impossibility of carrying out the reconstruction of the Government of Canton Sarajevo because ministers from the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina did not want to resign, submitted his resignation on October 9, thereby opening the process of appointing a new Government of Canton Sarajevo.
Along with this resignation, as stipulated by the Law on Government and the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly of Canton Sarajevo, deputies will also vote on the dismissal of the Government of Canton Sarajevo.
The opposition has announced a stormy session and stated that they are well prepared. Minister Almir Bečarević (SBiH) said that Uk could not submit a resignation on his behalf because he took an oath before the Assembly of Canton Sarajevo, and that legally speaking, Uk's resignation does not imply the resignations of other ministers.
The SDA has cited the case law of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in similar instances, so raised tones are expected today.
The parties of the troika, instead of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, have reached an agreement with Damir Marjanović, Redžo Lemezan, Admela Hodžić, and Elza Gaković to support the new Government of Canton Sarajevo. Marjanović requested two portfolios - higher education and finance, while Our Party will provide a candidate for the communal affairs portfolio.
In the new Government, if its dismissal is voted through, Minister Haris Vranić will no longer be part of it, as he stated that he no longer wishes to be a minister and that he is tired. He proposed that Ademir Spahić replace him, but the final decision rests with the Cantonal Board of the SDP.
Given the recent events and the allocation of money from the office of the Chairman of the Assembly of Canton Sarajevo, Elvedin Okerić, to associations whose members include members of NIP organizations, it is certain that part of the deputies' questions will also relate to this issue. The SDA, DF, and the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina have called for Okerić's removal from this position.
