(Patria) - German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock arrived tonight on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Baerbock will, as previously planned, meet with members of the BiH Presidency tonight, and tomorrow with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin Konaković.
Ahead of her arrival, Baerbock stated that "we cannot afford to have grey zones anywhere in Europe".
- We must do everything together to close all avenues that Russia can exploit for its policy of destabilization, disinformation, and infiltration.
This means supporting the Western Balkan countries in strengthening their democratic institutions, improving their resilience, and providing economic prospects for their people - said Baerbock.
She added that Bosnia and Herzegovina is at a crucial crossroads in the accession process.

- Last year, the European Council decided to open accession negotiations as soon as the criteria for doing so are met. On the path to the EU, those responsible in Sarajevo must step by step implement the necessary reforms.
The adoption of the law on the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing was one such European reform step. Given the October local elections, it is crucial to now complete the electoral law reform with the election process integrity package.
Free and fair elections are the foundation of a democratic society. We firmly oppose all those who, with their secessionist fantasies about BiH, place obstacles on the path to the EU and question European values - Baerbock stated.
