Salko Zildžić released from custody in Užice

(Patria) - The Higher Court in Užice today accepted the plea agreement on admitting guilt that federal representative Salko Zildžić, arrested on September 18 in Serbia, had previously concluded with the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office.

Based on this, Zildžić's pre-trial detention at the Investigation Prison in Užice was lifted, his lawyer Ljubiša Radulović confirmed to RSE.

- Zildžić was sentenced to one year in prison, and he will serve the sentence in his place of residence - Radulović explained.

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Užice previously stated for RSE that it had issued an order to conduct an investigation against Zildžić "due to the existence of a founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of illegal production, possession, carrying, and trafficking of weapons and explosive materials", based on the Criminal Code.

Zildžić's lawyer previously stated that after his client's arrest at the border with Serbia, he was ordered into 48-hour detention, and that the presiding judge in the preliminary proceedings, at the proposal of the Prosecutor's Office, ordered detention for up to one month.

The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced on September 20 that members of the Serbian Border Police, during a check at the border crossing, found an honorary ID card of the Intelligence-Security Agency (OSA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the representative in the FBiH Parliament, Salko Zildžić.

However, Zildžić's lawyer said that there is no OSA ID card in the case file, allegedly found with Zildžić.

The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed on September 20 that a case has been opened related to individuals on the US government's "blacklist" and allegations of abuse of OSA capacities, but it was not specified who the case pertains to.
