Šaljić: President of the Court to prison, murderers of 800 innocent people to house arrest!

(Patria) - I call on the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH to revoke the house arrest for six members of the Zvornik Brigade of the VRS who are accused of executing 800 Bosniaks in the eastern Bosnia region, and to immediately impose a detention measure in a correctional facility (prison) on them, as they have already attempted to escape once.

This was stated by Jasmin Šaljić, a cantonal representative of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“They were prevented from doing so by members of the Border Police in Zvornik, who processed them for criminal offenses and sent the case to the Prosecutor's Office, which, to the shock and outrage of the public, issued a house arrest measure for the accused on the same day. If they were accused of murdering eight hundred pigeons, they should have been imprisoned immediately! If the BiH Prosecutor's Office and Court are not given a fresh example today, which is the escape of five accused in the war crimes case in the Zecovi case, then something is seriously wrong,” Šaljić stated.

He adds that after a series of indictments against members of the Army of RBiH across Bosnia and Herzegovina, where members of the Army of RBiH were mostly indicted for joint criminal enterprises and various other fabricated charges, from Goražde to Bihać, the situation “seemingly” changed about ten days ago when the BiH Prosecutor's Office announced the indictment for genocide against several individuals from Zvornik, who were subsequently arrested.

“As soon as I saw this news, knowing what the BiH Prosecutor's Office, or rather the judiciary, has been doing in recent years, I realized that this was preparation for something much bigger, that this was just a ‘smokescreen,’ not a strategy of the BiH Prosecutor's Office to deal with real crimes and criminals in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was also evident after the prompt release of all the accused from Zvornik, who were immediately released, and I was just waiting to see who would be the next to be arrested or convicted by the judiciary as a Bosniak, because this was clearly just preparation. And then comes the news of the spectacular arrest of the President of the BiH Court and the former director of the Intelligence Security Agency of BiH (OSA), only, unlike the previous ones who are accused of genocide, they cannot defend themselves from freedom; they are arrested and detention has been ordered for them,” Šaljić stated.

Šaljić asks what is hidden behind all of this, and states that it is perhaps best to recall the case of Kemal Čaušević, former director of the Indirect Taxation Authority, when he was arrested in a similarly spectacular manner.

“After that, the trial lasted for several years, and after everything, he was the only one indicted, even though he could not have done anything alone. All others were acquitted. But, the real epilogue is that the Indirect Taxation Authority was then taken over by the HDZ, and later by the SNSD, and that today it is ‘cleansed’ of Bosniaks, and it is the most important institution, and that is the consequence. What will happen to the BiH Court? What worries me further, besides the fact that criminals for committed genocide are defending themselves from freedom, and the accused President of the BiH Court for ordering wiretapping, which is his job, is imprisoned. What should we expect next from the BiH Court? Time will tell, and I fear that this latest action is not a return to the rule of law, but rather something else. All of this is happening while Milorad Dodik is being tried at the BiH Court. We can only guess the outcome,” Šaljić concluded.
