Republika Srpska Establishes Its Own Intelligence Service and Special Prosecutor's Office for Prosecution!

(Patria) - Republika Srpska is establishing its own intelligence service, writes Istraga.ba.

Deputies of SNSD in the National Assembly of RS proposed, and then adopted, an amendment to the Bill on the Protection of the Constitutional Order of RS, which provides for the establishment of the intelligence service of RS, as a parallel institution to the Intelligence-Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"This law establishes the Service for the Protection of the Constitutional Order of RS, with headquarters in Banja Luka. The Service has jurisdiction within the territory of RS.

The Service for the Protection of the Constitutional Order of RS is competent to perform tasks related to: collecting data and preventing activities that undermine or overthrow the constitutional order and security of RS, investigating, collecting, processing, and analyzing data and information relevant to the security of RS and informing competent republican bodies and institutions about this data, as well as other tasks defined by law," it is stated in the amendment to the Bill on the Protection of the Constitutional Order of RS.



This intelligence service of RS would be headed by a director appointed by the President of RS for a term of five years. Thus, the current President of RS, Milorad Dodik, will appoint the director of this Service, which would be financed from the budget of RS.

According to the same law, the formation of a Special Prosecutor's Office of RS is also planned, which will prosecute all those who attack the "constitutional order of RS".

The Special Prosecutor would be appointed by the ruling majority in the National Assembly of RS and would have the authority to issue arrest warrants for all those who "overthrow the constitutional order of RS".



"All prosecutor's offices and all state bodies in Republika Srpska are obliged to provide all necessary assistance and support to special prosecutors or persons acting under their authority, at their request, including providing premises and equipment, and enabling the use of technical means at their disposal.

All state bodies of Republika Srpska are obliged to, without delay, execute the requests and orders issued by the Special Prosecutor's Office in accordance with the Law on Criminal Procedure of Republika Srpska," it is stated in the proposed law adopted tonight in the National Assembly of RS.
