First pilgrims arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - The first plane with Bosnian pilgrims, who traveled to Mecca and Medina organized by the Office for Hajj and Umrah of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, landed tonight at Sarajevo International Airport.

According to Izet-ef. Čamdžić, the chief guide, the journey went smoothly and all pilgrims are in good health.

“The first group of pilgrims departed from Medina at 8:00 PM local time and arrived at Sarajevo airport at 11:00 PM. The flight was pleasant, all pilgrims are healthy and alive.

I want to say that this year's Hajj was successful, and the decision to go to Mecca first and then to Medina proved to be very justified and very beneficial for the pilgrims.

Pilgrims could perform Hajj while fresh, and then they came to Medina, which is a rest in itself. The Hajj leadership and the Islamic Community as a whole should be proud of this year's Hajj,” Čamdžić stated.

The arriving pilgrims were welcomed by a large number of family members, relatives, and friends.

“We are overjoyed to have completed all the rituals. We are satisfied with the organization of the Hajj. I want to say that performing Hajj is not the easiest thing, the temperatures were high, and this is also an invitation for younger people to perform Hajj. We have truly returned happy to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Samir Mešić upon the pilgrims' arrival.
The last group from Mecca will arrive in Medina on June 26 and will depart for Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 1. From tomorrow, June 26, until July 1, it is planned for pilgrims to arrive in Sarajevo with two planes daily, departing from Medina in the morning at 7:05 AM and in the evening at 8:10 PM.
