(Patria) - The first group of future pilgrims from Bosnia and Herzegovina departed for Mecca this morning around 10:05 AM from Sarajevo International Airport.
Before departure, the pilgrims gathered at the "King Fahd" mosque, where the reisul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović, addressed them.
The team of guides includes experienced and professional individuals who are ready to give their best and be available to the pilgrims.
The chief guide of the first group, Izet ef. Čamdžić, told the Media center of the Islamic Community before the departure of the first plane that this journey is demanding, both mentally and physically. "This is primarily a spiritual journey that requires great physical effort and many sacrifices, but with God's help, we will accomplish it all as required by our exalted faith," said efendija Čamdžić.
He recalled the hadith of the Prophet, peace be upon him, which states that paradise and the purification of sins are the reward for a properly performed Hajj.
"We believe that, God willing, we will return to Bosnia and Herzegovina purified of sins with these people. That is our motive and desire, why we are traveling and why we will endure all the challenges that await us," said efendija Čamdžić.
Only one plane will depart today, and it is planned that the remaining pilgrims will be transported with two flights daily until June 12. The last flight is scheduled for June 12 at 9:20 PM.
We remind you that this year, 2225 pilgrims are traveling to Hajj from Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the first time in two and a half decades, pilgrims will put on their ihrams in Sarajevo, because they will first travel to Mecca, and after performing the Hajj rituals, then to Medina, from where the return to their homeland is planned.
