Former BiH Presidency member Borislav Paravac passed away

(Patria) - Borislav Paravac, former member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, passed away today in Doboj after a long and serious illness, the City Administration of Doboj announced.

Paravac was born in 1943 in Kostajnica near Doboj.

After the first multi-party elections in BiH, as an official of the SDS, he served as the president of the Executive Board of the Municipal Administration of Doboj for a decade.

Paravac was a member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska and a delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and then a member of the BiH Presidency representing the Serb people. He was also a member of the Senate of Republika Srpska.

Paravac was accused of war crimes at the Court of BiH, and after an almost ten-year process, he was definitively acquitted in December 2025.

A memorial service on the occasion of Paravac's death will be held on Friday, February 20, in the large hall of Pavlović University at 11:00 AM, and on the same day at 1:00 PM he will be buried in the local cemetery in Kostajnica near Doboj.
