Deputies of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina will today consider the Reform Agenda of BiH, a document already adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH and the governments of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH, and which has also received a positive assessment from the European Commission.
This is a document containing 113 measures and represents a key step towards withdrawing 976.6 million euros from the EU Instrument for Reforms and Growth. The European Commission has positively assessed the Reform Agenda, emphasizing its importance for accelerating BiH's European path.
The agenda of the session will also include the Bill on Amendments to the Law on VAT. The proposed amendments would introduce gambling into the indirect taxation system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Deputies will also consider the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Salaries and Allowances in BiH Institutions, proposed by Milan Dunović, Zlatan Begić, and Vlatko Glavaš, also with a request for an urgent procedure. The proposers state that the current law does not reflect the real level of responsibility, complexity, and market value of IT personnel jobs with secondary vocational education, which is why candidates with higher vocational education do not apply for vacancies.
The agenda also includes a request from the Joint Commission for Administrative Affairs to consider the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest in Institutions at the BiH Level under an urgent procedure, as well as the Bill on Amendments to the Law on the Agency for Investigations and Protection (SIPA) in the first reading, proposed by deputy Jasmin Emrić.
In the first reading, the Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH, the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Police Officers of BiH, and the Bill on State Property should also be considered.
The Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH, proposed by deputy of the People and Justice party Nihad Omerović, envisages the introduction of a new criminal offense – an attack on a returnee.
According to the proposed agenda, deputies should also vote on the financial audit reports of BiH institutions for 2024, as well as on the report on the work of the Council of Ministers of BiH for 2024.
The agenda also includes the appointment of the Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of Fight against Corruption.
The session is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM.
