Presidency of BiH: Bećirović and Komšić supported the Draft Law on State Property, outvoting Željka Cvijanović

(Patria) - At today's session of the Presidency of BiH, Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić outvoted Željka Cvijanović. The two supported the Draft Law on State Property.

The draft law was included on the agenda of today's session at the request of the Chairperson Denis Bećirović and Presidency member Željko Komšić.

As stated in the explanation of the proposed law, as the legal successor of the Republic of BiH, Bosnia and Herzegovina is the owner of state property, which means it is also the holder of ownership rights to all of that property, with the institutions of BiH, as well as the BiH entities and all other levels of government in BiH, being able to use or own the property necessary for the performance of their individual competencies, to the extent they may be authorized by a law passed by the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This law now goes to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

As stated in the part of the law, "state property can be sold or gifted, with the prior consent of the PA BiH or another body determined by this law".

It is also stated that state property can be leased or managed for a fee.

This law also establishes a Unified Register of State Property.

The law stipulates that the ownership, disposal, management, and use of state property will be carried out according to the principles of cooperation, coordination, and mutual understanding, which best lead to justice and tolerance, peaceful relations, promotion of general welfare and economic development, as well as the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity and political independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole, while respecting the competencies of all territorial-administrative levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
