
(Patria) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed on 10 February 2025 the indictment in the criminal case against the accused Sanid Bureković, charging him with committing the criminal offense of accepting gifts and other forms of benefit under Article 217, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused is charged with, on 3/4 August 2022, at the International Border Crossing Bosanski Brod, as a police officer of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, holding the rank of "policeman", assigned to the position of "border control policeman".
As stated in today's press release, the accused, as an authorized official, while performing border control duties at the entrance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the inspection of a passenger motor vehicle with German license plates and the person K.I., who was driving the said vehicle, requested and accepted a gift for himself from the same person, in order to perform within his function what he would have been legally obliged to perform, that is, to allow the said person to cross into the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, even though after conducting border checks he was aware that the person met the conditions for legal entry into the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
