Increased traffic throughout BiH, drivers advised to be cautious

This morning, driving conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina are favorable, but increased traffic is expected during the day on the approaches to cities and main roads across the country. The holiday season is affecting the daily increase in traffic, especially on routes from the interior towards the north and south.

Due to high daily temperatures, it is recommended to travel longer distances in the early morning or late evening hours. Drivers are urged to exercise maximum caution, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, and avoid risky overtaking.

Due to ongoing works, traffic is slowed down on the section of the highway between Podlugovi and Sarajevo sjever, as well as on several main roads, including the routes Jablanica – Prozor near Mirci, Zenica – Žepče in Topčić Polje, Kladanj – Vlasenica, Tuzla – Šićki Brod, Ustikolina – Goražde near Mravinjac, Sarajevo – Pale, and Vrhpolje – Ključ.

On the main road Jablanica – Blidinje, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons of total weight.

Active landslides continue to cause problems on the main roads Dobro Polje – Foča, at the locations Sijeračke stijene and Tuhalji, as well as on the section Gacko – Tjentište between the Čemerno and Surdup tunnels.

Currently, there are no long waits at border crossings for passenger vehicles, with waits ranging between 15 and 30 minutes. The Brčko border crossing is open for vehicles up to 3.5 tons.

Traffic for vehicles over five tons of permissible weight is prohibited at the Karakaj border crossing near Zvornik. Freight vehicles are being redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses can use the Šepak crossing. Freight traffic at the Šepak crossing is allowed from 9 AM to 1 PM and from 10 PM to 6 AM, while on weekends, it is only allowed from 10 PM to 6 AM.
