Kvadrant Market Cleaning Begins, KS Government Considers Aid Modalities

(Patria) - Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk, Minister of Economy Zlatko Mijatović, and Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction, and Environmental Protection Almir Bečarević held a meeting today with the director of KJKP „Tržnice-pijace Sarajevo“ Jasmin Terović and several tenants to discuss aid modalities following Sunday's fire at the "Kvadrant" market.

Director Terović informed those present about the current situation, stating that the site cleaning has begun and asked the Prime Minister and ministers for assistance from other public companies and the police in removing the large amount of material, so that the work can be completed as soon as possible. The intention, as stated by Director Terović, is to make the location functional again as soon as possible. He presented a plan to install about 100 new stalls within the next 10 days after this week's site cleaning, so that tenants can resume work as soon as possible.

Prime Minister Uk and Ministers Mijatović and Bečarević promised all necessary assistance from cantonal companies in the cleaning process. They also informed those present that the Government is urgently seeking modalities to help the tenants, i.e., the workers who worked at this market.

"We are urgently considering all possibilities and legal resources, and in the next few days, the Government will come forward with that proposal," said the Prime Minister and ministers, stating that they are choosing a solution that will be the fairest and will enable those who suffered damage to overcome the situation as easily as possible and start working again.
