Victory at Brčanska Malta was chivalrous: Enemy intentions of the criminal JNA were thwarted

(Patria) - The Association "Guardians of Bosnia" - Tuzla region issued a statement today on the occasion of May 15 - the military victory at Brčanska Malta.

"On this day, we proudly recall the glorious battle of our defenders at Brčanska Malta in Tuzla, on May 15, 1992 - the day when the brave sons of Bosnia and Herzegovina rose against the criminal intent to break up our homeland.

That day, Tuzla showed its face of resistance, and Bosnia and Herzegovina sent a message to the whole world: we have no reserve homeland and there is no force that will force us to leave our homes.

It should be clearly stated - on that May 15, the former Yugoslav People's Army unilaterally began withdrawing tanks and armored vehicles from the 'Husinska buna' barracks, despite agreements, with the aim of taking control of key routes and implementing a broader Greater Serbian plan to occupy Tuzla.

Our fighters, almost unarmed, stood in the way of the former JNA, protecting the city and the lives of their fellow citizens.

Final verdicts and decisions from The Hague to the BiH Prosecutor's Office, including the one in the Republic of Serbia which acquitted Ilija Jurišić, confirmed that this was a chivalrous battle and a legitimate act of defending the city, in which our defenders showed how to defend their homeland.

That victory at Brčanska Malta is not only a military, but a moral and historical victory, for both Tuzla and the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina over aggression and occupying plans.

Today, when a silent war against the state is being waged again - through political blackmail, ethnic divisions, and attempts to revise history - it is our duty to be worthy successors of the defenders of Brčanska Malta and every inch of this land.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is not anyone's experiment, but the homeland of all its citizens.

We declare: Bosnia and Herzegovina is indivisible! We will never agree to divisions, nor to attempts to humiliate our fighters, our army, and the truth. Let the criminals know - their past is shameful, their present is a lie, and their future is defeat.

Long live Bosnia and Herzegovina! May God have mercy on all martyrs and eternal thanks to the fallen fighters, defenders of Bosnia and Herzegovina," stated the Association "Guardians of Bosnia" - Tuzla region.
