Pistorius at the BiH Presidency: Germany's Important Role in BiH's EU Integration Process

(Patria) - Members of the BiH Presidency spoke with the Minister of Defence of the Federal Republic of Germany, Boris Pistorius, about the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans. The important role of the Federal Republic of Germany, as one of the key partners of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, was highlighted.

Gratitude was expressed to Germany for its commitment to peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and for providing important support in strengthening defence forces. It was stated that strengthening the Armed Forces of BiH and strengthening the institutions of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina has no alternative.

Interest was expressed in further improving economic cooperation, bearing in mind that Germany is among the most significant economic partners of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a leading donor in Bosnia and Herzegovina, so interest was also expressed in further German investments.

The current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path, were discussed.

Germany is among the key European partners of BiH and strongly supports Bosnia and Herzegovina's membership in the EU, and has an interest in achieving lasting stability in the Western Balkans region by ensuring a European perspective for all countries in the region, it was stated at the meeting.

The extension of the EUFOR Althea mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed.
