(Patria) - The reception organized by the Israeli embassy in BiH, which was supposed to be held at the "Europe" hotel in Sarajevo on the occasion of October 7th and the Hamas attack, has been canceled, the hotel confirmed to Faktor.
"Aluminij Industries" d.o.o. Mostar reserved a small hall in our hotel about ten days ago. At the time, we were only told it was a business meeting.
However, today we learned from the media what was actually supposed to happen in the hall, and after the suggestions and instructions we received from BiH security services, we decided to cancel this event," said the management of the "Europe" hotel.
Let us remind you, the Embassy of Israel and the Chamber of Commerce of the State of Israel in BiH in Sarajevo planned to organize a reception on the anniversary of Hamas's attack on Israel, which occurred on October 7th last year.
The reception was scheduled by the non-resident ambassador of Israel to BiH and Albania, Galit Peleg. However, by all accounts, it will not happen.
Immediately after the announcement of the reception, KS Assembly representative Muamer Bandić reacted on social media.
"As a representative in the KS Assembly, I call on the KS Government to urgently react and take a stance regarding the announced reception of the Israeli Embassy, commemorating the anniversary of the unfortunate events that initiated a wave of violence in the Gaza Strip, which led to genocide against Palestinians.
Given the sensitive moment and all the events in the Middle East, I consider such a propaganda event unnecessary and superfluous, as it could lead to public unrest in Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina," Bandić stated.
