Convicted war criminal Mladić fainted and injured his head

(Patria) - Convicted war criminal and former commander of the Main Staff of the Army of Republika Srpska, Ratko Mladić, due to loss of consciousness, fell and injured his head in the Hague detention hospital, where he has been since April due to immobility, which caused additional complications, his son Darko Mladić told Srna.

He stated that he went to the Netherlands last Monday to visit his father, but was informed that Mladić had lost consciousness, fallen and injured himself, after which he ended up in a civilian hospital, where he then visited him.

"They informed us that he had this fall and a big blow to the head, as he lost consciousness while standing and fell. They probably picked him up. They told us not to come for a visit, so we then went to that civilian hospital to see him," said Darko.

He added that the war criminal Mladić was conscious, but that he did not know at all how he fell.

"He was kept there for two days, then returned. In any case, the condition is unchanged in the sense that he is bedridden and very fragile," said Darko Mladić.

"I cannot say that the condition has worsened, but neither that it has improved," said Darko Mladić.

He stated that the war criminal Mladić has additional complications after the fall, high blood pressure, which cannot be lowered even after ten days.

"We have little contact now, but we are still communicating," he said.

He reminded that since April, Mladić has been visited by two Serbian doctors - a nephrologist and a neuropsychiatrist, from whom reports have been obtained.

Mladić was sentenced to life imprisonment in June 2021 by the judgment of the Hague Tribunal for genocide and war crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
