OSCE on the interruption of RTV FBiH broadcasting: Find an urgent and effective solution

(Patria) - The OSCE Mission to BiH called on BHRT and RTV FBiH to find an urgent and effective solution that will ensure everyone in BiH has consistent and reliable access to vital information.

"The establishment and maintenance of a politically independent and financially stable public broadcasting system is essential to protect the fundamental right to access information and ensure a strong and healthy media environment, which are key elements of a functional democratic state and reflect the obligations that BiH has undertaken as an OSCE participating State.

Authorities at the state and entity levels must act in accordance with this responsibility, including by finding solutions for the sustainable and systemic financing of all public broadcasters in Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby fulfilling a long-standing recommendation of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media", the OSCE stated.
